Workshops & Private Training
Build the knowledge. Practice the judgment. Grow your confidence.
I work with independent consignment businesses, luxury retail teams, and individuals who want a stronger understanding of authentication. From the ABCs to complex case reviews, we can focus on the brands you handle, the questions that slow you down, and the skills you want to develop.
Workshops & Roundtables.
I offer approachable, expert-led sessions for smaller luxury consignment businesses, independent resale shops, owners, buyers, intake staff, and sales teams. A business can book a private team session, or an organization can arrange a facilitated roundtable for a small group of business owners.
Workshops use a defined learning agenda and practical exercises. Roundtables create space for questions, discussion, and shared operational challenges. Both are tailored to the participants' experience, inventory, and goals. They are booking formats, not scheduled public classes or an existing membership community.
I meet a team at its current level. An introductory session can cover the ABCs of authentication: materials, construction, hardware, brand identifiers, appropriate comparisons, documentation, and when to seek additional expertise. A more advanced discussion can explore superfake trends, unexpected brands or styles being counterfeited, misleading assumptions, difficult case studies, and how genuine production variation differs from evidence of counterfeiting.
Authentication Foundations
A structured introduction to materials, construction, hardware, identifiers, appropriate comparisons, documentation, and when to seek additional expertise.
Beyond the Obvious: Counterfeit Trends & Unexpected Targets
An advanced discussion of superfakes, meaning highly convincing counterfeits, misleading assumptions, unexpected targets, and authentic production variation.
The Case Review Roundtable
A facilitated review of documented examples selected during preparation, with discussion focused on evidence, research quality, confidence, and escalation.
Growing Your Luxury Assortment
A practical look at new brands or categories, clientele and inventory goals, required product knowledge, and whether intake and escalation processes match the team's capabilities.
Documented examples are selected during preparation. I do not manufacture trend claims or bring proprietary case findings into website copy. Authentication education strengthens judgment, but it does not guarantee inventory profitability.
Between larger engagements
Focused coaching for the questions that keep returning.
A focused session might examine a recurring point of confusion, work through research and comparison methods, review a difficult item as a teaching case, or help staff become more comfortable explaining when further review is needed.
Confidence comes from stronger reasoning, practice, and feedback. Businesses can inquire about a one-time workshop, a focused series, or recurring case-review sessions, with preparation, case submissions, and follow-up agreed in advance.
Private Training & Mentorship.
I work directly with aspiring authenticators, consignment business owners, working resellers, and experienced professionals seeking deeper calibration. The curriculum is tailored professional development grounded in my experience across luxury brands, team training, and real resale operations.
You can focus on a particular brand or category within my supported expertise, or build a broader curriculum around your goals. Calibration means learning to weigh evidence consistently, recognize genuine production variation, identify gaps in your knowledge, and match your confidence to the strength of the evidence.
Private training goes well beyond identifying a date code or serial number. It can include brand and production context, materials and construction, hardware, identifiers, vintage variations, research quality, useful reference examples, counterfeit evolution, documentation, and professional review workflows. Recognizing possible repairs or alterations and knowing when specialist review is appropriate may also be included in the agreed scope.
No single identifier or checklist is enough to authenticate an item.
Authentication Foundations
Structured introductory learning that builds a reliable starting point and sound review habits.
Focused Coaching & Calibration
Direct work on specific gaps, brands, categories, recurring questions, or challenging review habits.
Private Authentication Mentorship
A more extensive course of individual instruction, practice, feedback, and reassessment, scoped around the learner.
Deeper mentorship
A learning plan built around how you reason.
We begin with a goals conversation and an initial skills assessment appropriate to your level. I build the learning plan around the agreed brands, categories, strengths, and gaps.
Sessions may combine guided instruction, think-aloud case reviews, independent practice, research assignments, review simulations, and detailed feedback. I assess reasoning as well as conclusions, including situations where the right next step is to request more information or escalate.
We revisit comparable skills later to assess progress and identify further practice needs. The agreed program ends with a review of demonstrated strengths, remaining gaps, and recommended next steps. Any ongoing mentorship or post-program support is defined separately in the scope.
Private instruction is available virtually and in person where appropriate. Scheduling, session length, total hours, learning materials, and follow-up are tailored to the learner. A focused session or series can be a useful entry point, while a longer mentorship offers more practice and reassessment.
Training develops the learner's skills. It does not promise certification, employment, unrestricted readiness to authenticate every item, a fixed completion timeline, unlimited access, or automatic professional mastery. Individual item authentication requests continue through the appropriate service route.
Why train with Nhu
Built from real teams and real review work.
As a former Senior Manager of Fashion Authentication at The RealReal and current Head of Luxury at Legitmark, I have developed authenticators, calibrated teams, and built practical workflows at scale. I remain an active authenticator, which keeps the instruction connected to current review work.
My independent private training is distinct from my provider affiliations and my partnership with the Authentication Institute of America. A private engagement does not confer credentials from those organizations.
Whether you need a clearer starting point, a second perspective on your process, or a structured path toward stronger professional judgment, we can build the training around you.
Learning resources
Practice materials that support the plan.
Tailored case exercises, practice materials, brand-specific references, and desk guides may support the agreed learning plan. Materials are written for the learner or team and place identifiers in the proper brand and production context.
For an event audience, related discovery kits and co-branded takeaways can become part of a private authentication experience.
Training questions
A clear place to begin.
Can beginners participate?
Yes. Introductory learning starts with the foundations and builds a disciplined way to observe, compare, document, and ask for help.
Can small teams and individuals book?
Yes. Independent shops can book private team workshops or focused sessions, and individuals can book one-on-one instruction.
Can the content focus on specific brands?
Yes, when the requested brands or categories fall within my supported expertise. We can also agree on a broader curriculum.
How does advanced calibration work?
We compare how evidence is weighed, examine difficult cases, identify gaps, and practice matching confidence to the strength of the evidence.
Is virtual instruction available?
Yes. Private instruction and team sessions can be delivered virtually, with materials and exercises selected for that format.
How is the scope determined?
We consider the learner's starting point, curriculum breadth, practice and assessment time, format, materials, and agreed follow-up. Training is tailored and does not automatically confer certification.
Proposals are individually quoted. They consider the learner's starting point, curriculum breadth, practice and assessment time, format, learning materials, and agreed follow-up.
Planning a client event?
Bring the same expertise to a private audience.
Speaking, interactive private client experiences, on-site appearances, and brand collaborations have a dedicated booking path.
